MAX HOCKING NIPPER FUN DAY HAYLE SUNDAY 17th June
Below is info about Sundays fun day for Nippers 8-13yr, all welcome, hope to see you there. We will have the club gazebo there and some spare beanies.
Schedule:
10.30am Team Managers’ meeting at 10.30am, to allow for the spring high tide at 8.30am, and also to give Bude, Crackington, and others coming from afar more time to get here. We won’t need to worry about heats and finals, etc, so going for a more relaxed day, as is the norm with this event. We suggest you don’t arrive too much before 10am to get your spot, as there will be no beach to camp on before this. (Spring high tide at 8.34am!)
11am teams sorted (coloured bibs as usual) and events start in the sea. The children will need their hats, and age groups on their hand, but no need for competitor numbers, etc. Sea events will be in the morning, on the outgoing tide.
Wading race
Duck Diving / body surf / swim race (within the children’s depth)
Board Race
Lunch
Beach events We’ll avoid beach flags, as normal, due to time. There will some good beach fun details on the day!
Presentation of medals Each child to receive a participation medal, as usual.
Parking
In the large car park opposite the Bluff. £4 all day
Refreshments
We’ll have the barbecue on the go all day, with bacon baps from 11am and burgers, hot dogs and veggie burgers from about 12pm. We’ll also have some cakes, etc. Cove Café will be open selling everything else, including hot drinks, ice-creams, etc.
Safety Cover
We have the flood rescue team coming with the IRB, although we don’t anticipate going out too deep anyway. We’d be very grateful if clubs could provide the team managers for each colour team please, and anyone wanting to get in the water to help would be very welcome.
Looking forward to welcoming our friends from other clubs to Hayle, and we’ll see you on Sunday, pray for the weather we had last year!
